Ever since I was a kid I've loved science fiction, but mostly one particular kind of science fiction that doesn't always stand out. I suppose a lot of the time when I mention science fiction, people tend to think up fantastical future things like Star Wars, or something completely off the wall like Transformers. While I do enjoy that side of the genre, what really gets me going are the stories that seem to be firmly tied to what's actually possible.

These days, whenever I load up a game like Call Of Duty, I find myself a little taken back by the longevity of such a franchise. After all, series like this and Battlefield have been a point of derision among gamers, as they represent the big money of the gaming industry. For a while it even seemed like there was a genuine revolt against the yearly releases and expensive DLC. I knew the day would eventually come when I'd be ready to tackle the controversial existence of No Man's Sky. Oh, and you might be surprised to know that I've actually spent a fair bit of time playing the game as well.
