Straight up, there's not a whole lot to show this week, but what I do have is kind of exciting. I didn't doodle much, and what I doodled is really of no consequence, which probably says something given my usual low quality. Anyway, I thought it might be fun to show some paintings instead.
Hopefully you're not already sick and tired of hearing me talk about the big project I'm working on, but I'm going to do it again. In 2019 there I'll have more information available, but I'm in that stage where everything's up in the air right now. Until everything's nailed down hard, I won't be giving away too much.
Although, these are some of the paintings I've been working on lately, which will all end up in the final collection. The top two are finished (until I decide to change them at least), but the cool ones are the other three that are still incomplete.
I mean, it's much more interesting to see something in-progress (in my opinion), but this is the kind of thing I've been doing. There are many more, and many more to come.
Actually one interesting point that just entered my mind, is the idea of how much is too much to show before you're done. I mean, I love sharing work-in-progress and seeing what others are doing in the same vein, but surely you can't blow your wad all at once. It's why I'm not going hard at talking about this big project, because I don't want to over-do it too early.
Then again, maybe it doesn't matter. I see lots of other creatives showing off their work online, well before the things it's intended for happens. I imagine that my reluctance comes from my general attitude towards over-sharing everything, as my business is typically my business and it doesn't matter to anyone else. There's a certain amount of arrogance and ego involved in showing off your work too early, which is why I try to avoid it.
Anyway, back to the pointless doodles next time. Hope you enjoy seeing some colour for a change!
(BTW: The images above are bad photos taken with my phone camera, so they’re not a perfect reproduction, but they’re close enough to get the idea)
