It's no secret that we're all a little crap at something, in the same way that each and every one of us excel at something else. At times it might be hard to know what's what, but the best we can do is try. After all, there's no escaping the incapability of existence, so we might as well have some fun with it along the way.

There's still a lot that I want to talk about when the time is right, but we're not quite there yet. I still need to confirm one large part of the project I'm working on before I can really start blabbing. Until then, let's try and talk about some practical painting experiences.
It's not often that I get to be happy about a lack of content, but when it's the result of being productive in other ways, I'm cool with it. So this week there's only a few doodles to show, as I've been spending more and more time putting paint on canvas.
I'm sure we've all heard it before, but sometimes coming up with a creative idea is as difficult as any other test of skill. Maybe you've heard the stories about writers staring at blank pages, artists gazing over white canvas, or musicians droning through random noise. There are times that the pursuit of an idea can feel impossibly unsurmountable, but then there are times when the dam bursts, and the rush is beyond euphoric.
Since starting this thing I've managed to finish off three sketch books, and I'm about to run out of space in another. Most had already been started, so it's not like I started on a blank slate, but it seems like some kind of accomplishment. I suppose the accumulation of results can often feel like success, even if there's little to no value in the literal substance of the outcomes. So this week I've been thinking about success and how we determine whether or not we have been successful.
We've finally reached that magic number marking an entire year's worth of entries. Hence,. It's now time to see if anything has been accomplished, and where we're heading in the future. What resolutions can be teased from a proper look into the past.
Ooh la la, it's only one week until a full year of weekly doodles passes us by. The best part of any anniversary is if it arrives along with good timing and motivation, which I'm happy to say this one seems to be on track for.
