Added “AA - Apple Arcade” to game platform list (to be ready for an up-coming game post).
Updated “Other Gear” section on About page to remove art-related hardware and include mobile hardware.
Updated all the links on the archive page to reflect the new domain. This will prevent links breaking when atelierarcade.net eventually expires. Will need to update links within blog posts as well.
I have made some significant changes:
All ‘art’ content has been removed - the blog is ONLY about video games now
Thus, I have removed some pages from the top menu, as well as some irrelevant information from the About page and Home page
URL has been changed - the old URL atelierarcade.net will remain in tact until it expires in December 2019. Until then all the old links should redirect to the new domain
Updated site logo and meta information to reflect the name and content change
New email address: hello@abbysblog.net
New twitter account: @abbysgamingblog
There are still some more things that need to be changed:
Archive links still point to old domain - will updated to new URL so they don’t break when the old domain expires
Might change the header images so they are different on each page, but haven’t decided yet
I’d like to change the layout of the Archive page, but what to?
I’m still waiting on some meta stuff to propagate across the internet, like SEO descriptions etc, but hopefully that will happen within 48hrs
Thinking about adding in some useful categories for gaming posts (so you can sort by genre/etc), but probably wont implement it anytime soon as I doubt it would be utilised all that much
I think that’s about it for now.
Have started the process of transitioning the site to become a purely gaming focused blog.
Registered domain: abbysblog.net
New site will be known as: Abby’s Gaming Blog
I anticipate some interruptions and broken links as I slowly move things away from atelierarcade.net to abbysblog.net - however, the original domain will stay intact until its registration period finishes at the end of the year.
Changed the Playstation Vita platform code from “Vita” to “PSV” - it’s one letter shorter and starts with “P” so it groups nicely with the other Playstation codes.
Added “welcome” header to home page
Changed the following platform codes so that they make more sense and save some space:
Android is now Droid - Android Mobile Devices
Linux is now Lin - Linux Operating Systems
N-Gage is now NG - Nokia N-Gage
Switch is now NS - Nintendo Switch
PC is now Win - Windows Operating Systems
I never felt good about PC representing Windows OS only, so felt like it needed a better label. The cheat sheet on the About page has been updated to reflect these changes.
Also updated all Release Dates to include leading zeros. For instance: 1/1/2019 should read 01/01/2019.
Have updated all gaming posts with new platform labels and leading zeros.
