Settle in because after missing last week's Sunday, I'm feeling all introspective and there's bound to be a tangent on the horizon. It's going to be a bit messy over the next month or so, until I make some big changed to everything going forward.

It's no secret that we're all a little crap at something, in the same way that each and every one of us excel at something else. At times it might be hard to know what's what, but the best we can do is try. After all, there's no escaping the incapability of existence, so we might as well have some fun with it along the way.
It's funny how every time I sit down to write this weekly post, I always want to focus on things that have no relevance. What I mean is that I'm trying to keep this particular series focused on creativity and everything related to it. The hard part is that sometimes it feels like everything informs our creative output without question.
We don't do Thanksgiving in Australia, because… well it's irrelevant here. Although, I do like the idea of taking some time out in the year to actively engage in some positivity and express what we're thankful for. There are so many random circumstances we could all find ourselves in, so let's take a moment to appreciate the good things that have come our way.
Since starting this thing I've managed to finish off three sketch books, and I'm about to run out of space in another. Most had already been started, so it's not like I started on a blank slate, but it seems like some kind of accomplishment. I suppose the accumulation of results can often feel like success, even if there's little to no value in the literal substance of the outcomes. So this week I've been thinking about success and how we determine whether or not we have been successful.
As much as giving credit to commercial television for anything productive seems like an incredible error in judgement, I saw about two seconds of a talent show that inspired this week's train of thought. I can't remember what show it was exactly, but there were a bunch of celebrity judges who were commenting on the performance of some dude standing on a stage. The only thing I really picked up as I continued surfing channels, was the enormity of sincerity and earnest belief in the words these people were saying.
Ooh la la, it's only one week until a full year of weekly doodles passes us by. The best part of any anniversary is if it arrives along with good timing and motivation, which I'm happy to say this one seems to be on track for.
If I had to choose one thing to eat for the rest of my life, it would be sushi. When I say "sushi" I mean everything that could be considered a part of that family; like sashimi, nori, nigiri, and any other kind of sushi that fits the category. As far as I'm concerned, it's the food of the gods and combines the decadence of delicious flavour, with the humility of perfect balance and portions. It's the best, without exception.
